To enhance the security and safety of Nebraska's Educational Institutions, the Nebraska Department of Education (NDE) has created the School Safety and Security-Related Infrastructure Grant. This competitive grant will allocate $10 million in funds to support public and private schools across Nebraska in their efforts to upgrade security-related infrastructure.
The grant aims to address the critical need for improved physical security measures across educational settings to foster secure and conducive learning environments for students.
School Districts: Any school district in Nebraska may apply for this grant.
Educational Service Units: An Educational Service Unit that has established and entered into a contract for security-related infrastructure purposes with a nonpublic school may apply for a grant to support the contract. An Educational Service Unit may submit a separate application for each nonpublic school for which Educational Service Unit has established and entered into a contract for security-related infrastructure purposes.
