Montana Nonprofit Security Grant Program

January 3, 2024 - March 29, 2024

The Nonprofit Security Grant Program provides funding support for physical security enhancements and other security activities to nonprofit organizations that are high risk of a terrorist attack - including Houses of Worship, Education Facilities, and other 501(c)(3) Organizations.

The NSGP plays an important role in the implementation of the National Preparedness System by supporting the development and sustainment of core capabilities. The NSGP objectives are to support efforts that: Build and sustain core capabilities, strengthen governance integration between private nonprofit entities and Federal, state, and local governments, and encourage a whole community approach to security and emergency management

Examples of eligible entities may include nonprofits such as:

  • Houses of Worship
  • Education Facilities
  • Medical Facilities
  • Other 501(c)(3) Organizations

Examples of non-eligible entities include:

  • For-Profit Entities
  • Public Schools
  • Government Entities

Examples of allowable expenditures:

  • Security Cameras & Alarms
  • Access Controls / Fences / Bollards / Barriers
  • Planning / Training & Exercises
  • Technology / Cybersecurity

Examples of unallowable expenditures:

  • Facial Recognition / License Plate Readers
  • Weapons / Weapons Training
